Liv Taylor-Harris
I am Liv, the Genealogy Hobbyist and host here at ClaimingKin.com! I’ve been hooked on “all things genealogy” ever since my son, who is married with children of his own, brought home an ancestral chart to complete for his “All About Me” project in third grade (1989). Completing that chart wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. But I must admit, it was exactly the motivation I needed to learn more about my family and do all I can to preserve our history for future generations!
My family research is a labor of love and well worth the weekend trips to ancestral places around Texas and countless hours spent in old courthouse basements looking through hundreds of records for clues and any information I can find about my ancestors. And despite some of the challenges I face researching my African /African-American Ancestry at times, my genealogical journey has been a rewarding one.
I want very much to share my family history journey with you. If this is your first time here, please stop by my “New Here?” page for samples of the type of posts and topics you’ll find here.
I hope you enjoy your time here and plan to visit often! Feel free to subscribe to my blog’s RSS feed or email alerts (by entering your email address in the subscription box to the far right of this page) to be kept abreast of all my family experiences and findings! If you need to contact me about any of the information you find here, you can do so by email, or by any of the social networks (i. e. facebook, twitter, etc) links you see along the right sidebar of my blog.
