After reading Afi-Odelia E. Scruggs’ book, CLAIMING KIN: CONFRONTING THE HISTORY OF AN AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY, in December of 2010 (special thanks to book buddy, Alvin C. Romer, for sending this wonderful book to me!), I was inspired to launch this family history blog with the same title on New Year’s Day 2011!
